Alolan Ninetales Drop Event Breakdown

16th May - 26th May

It’s time for another drop event! This time, Alolan Ninetales is taking the spotlight! Featuring a Promo exclusive full art card, this one is definitely worth the chase. Let’s take a look at it.

Alolan Nintetales Promo

This full art is definitely one for collectors. It will pair perfectly with the recently released full art Alolan Vulpix! 3 energy for 60 damage, this is akin to a non EX version of Artecuno EX’s Blizzard. It also deals 20 damage to your opponent’s bench as well. Interesting.

Here are the other cards available in the promo packs;

Major changes are on Alolan Grimer. Instead of a 2 energy - 30dmg attack, here it is changed for 1 energy poison application. This could be significantly weaker considering Alolan Muk EX requires 3 energy and applies effects. This could be an issue with a 1 energy buffer turn pre or post evolution. So it seems this version is weaker but time will tell.

Completing solo battles will grant a Promo pack which will contain one of these cards. Here’s the % rates for each card;

Crabrawler - 12.66%

Alolan Griemr - 15.82%

Toucannon - 23.84%

Alolan Exeggutor - 23.84%

Alolan Ninetales - 23.84%

As usual, the chances of earning a Promo pack are dependant on the difficulty of the battle you played. Here’s those numbers too;

Beginner - 51%

Intermediate - 64%

Advanced - 80%

Expert - 100%

So grinding the Expert battles are the way to go. As always, battles require Event stamina which replenishes automatically at 1 per 12 hours. You can use Event Hourglasses if you want. Stamina is only consumed upon a victory.

Without further ado, let’s start getting into CPU checklists and rewards.

1 Promo Pack

1 Shop Ticket

100 EXP

Chance rewards;

Win this battle without your opponent getting any points 4x Wonderpick Hourglasses

Finally, the only one you should be grinding, Expert.

Expected Expert CPU Decklist

Lots of trainers and tools here. It’s expected that the CPU will get Crabominable and Alolan Ninetales up pretty much every encounter. For that reason, Metal is highly recommended. Solgaleo will wipe the floor with this deck. So here’s the first time clear rewards;

8x Pack Hourglasses

1 Promo Pack

1 Shop Ticket

100 EXP

Chance rewards;

1 Promo Pack - 100%

25 Shinedust - 100%

1 Shop Ticket 75%

Finally, the Expert missions;

Mission Reward
Win this battle using a Deck where all the Pokémon cards are ♦, ♦♦, and/or ♦♦♦ rarity 5x Wonderpick Hourglasses
Win this battle by turn 12 5x Wonderpick Hourglasses
Win this battle without your opponent getting any points 5x Wonderpick Hourglasses
Win 10 or more battles 5x Wonderpick Hourglasses
Win 20 or more battles 5x Wonderpick Hourglasses

That does it for our breakdown of the Alolan Nintales drop event. Grab that full art card. It’s well worth the effort.
